Working as one: the case for choosing one supplier for your construction machinery components
Kawasaki Precision Machinery’s business development director, John Boote explains the benefits of the company’s move to become a total systems solution provider, supplying pumps, motors and control valves for every type of machinery.
According to a recent report, the heavy construction equipment market will be worth 1.66.05 billion USD by 2020, a growth of 6.80% from 2015.
As a hydraulics systems supplier to the industry we’re certainly noticing this steady growth; but it is cautious, and the need for performance, cost efficiency and reliability is higher than ever.
Machinery manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to streamline their operations, improve their products and make real cost savings for their end users.
New products launching at Bauma
That’s why we’re launching a brand new range of pumps, motors and control valves on stand 101 at Bauma exhibition in Germany from 11th – 17th April 2016.
For 20+ years we’ve been known for our hydraulic components and systems for excavators, but these new products build on this expertise and provide a total system for any type of construction machinery from telehandlers and backhoe loaders to wheel loaders.
The new products include the K3VLS Axial Piston Pump, the M7V High Speed Axial Piston Motor, the K8V Series Closed Loop Axial Piston pump and the KLSV Load Sensing Control Valve.
Although they’re available individually they’ve been developed as a suite of complementary components.
Sourcing components from one supplier is quicker and more efficient during the procurement period, but also following project completion. One trusted contact saves time and resource but it also means that troubleshooting and maintenance is faster, without the to-ing and fro-ing that can happen when a machine uses parts from numerous suppliers.
- One point of contact
“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”, Aristotle
Or, in other words:
“When individual parts are connected together to form one entity, they are worth more than if the parts were in silos.”
The Greek philosopher may have said these words 2000 years ago but they still ring true today.
Each of the new components has been designed to work seamlessly alone, but when combined they each benefit from the inherent reliability and efficiency of the next.
- Reliability and efficiency
Price matters, but it’s not simply just about the cost of initial purchase. These components have been developed to save on installation, maintenance and running costs. Our new pump – the K3VLS – focuses on this in particular and is proven to lower fuel consumption even when idling.
- Cost effectiveness
Working with one supplier means that you have access to their research and development teams and project managers who can help ensure that each component is the perfect fit for your machine. They can provide advice, guidance and modifications where feasible and appropriate.
